On 13 August 2018, Intel’s Dr. Jafar Keshvari stepped down as ICES TC34 chairman. Jafar led the Technical Committee for close to 5 years and contributed substantially to the revision and development on SAR computational and measurements standards for wireless communication technologies. Under his leadership the joint activities with IEC TC106 reached to an excellent level and joint working groups on 5G compliance assessment were established with IEC. Jafar also had initiated the development of several dual-logo (IEC/IEEE) standards on the use of numerical methods for SAR assessment and has maintained close cooperation with IEC. The AdCom and the ICES membership are grateful to all his efforts and achievements. Jafar has been appointed as the chairman of ICES.
